Weed doesn’t have to be in charge any longer. Resolved! Counselling for Children could help them be free, once and for all.
Hello. If you’re reading this then I’m sorry to hear it. It’s never an easy thing to have a child feel dependent upon a substance. It’s also far from pleasant to have to have put up with the lies, denials and behaviours which almost inevitably accompany any addiction. The good news is that if you live in or around Oxford or Reading, and have a son or daughter who wishes to break free of cannabis addiction, then a happy ending is completely possible.
Adolescents and teenagers will begin experimenting with alcohol, tobacco and drugs for a wide range of reasons. Most manage to contain it within the mere experimental stage of their development, never quite tipping into truly addictive dependence. I think most people who read this page will be able to recall their own dalliances with such things. I know I can.
I also offer counselling and psychotherapy for cannabis addictions online, using vsee, whatsapp, zoom. Please get in touch for details.
Cannabis can appear to help but is, in reality, a false friend
Those prone to depression or anxiety may find that substances offer respite from their feelings. Sometimes the use of weed can be merely one part of a wide-ranging array of problem behaviours.
Over time, however, the servant becomes the master and the teenager concerned will find that cannabis is something they feel they can’t do without. Perhaps they come to realise the need to stop but find the habits, the substance and the relationships which build around these behaviours too strong to break.
If your child is ready to stop then please do get in touch with me. I have years of experience in helping adults to end addictive behaviours of all kinds.
As a qualified child and adolescent counsellor I am now helping teenagers to take back control as well. Psychotherapy, counselling, mindfulness and even hypnotherapy can be blended into a potent brew, designed to end addiction and rebuild self-esteem and acceptance.
Help is available as and when your son or daughter feels ready to accept it.
How can Resolved! Counselling for Children help?
I teach my clients that they don’t need to rely on cannabis to manage their feelings. There are far better ways of doing so and I teach them to do so in a tried and tested manner. I teach them to summon the strength with which to begin altering the habits, rituals and routines which support their addiction, withdrawing from the substance over a reasonable time frame in order that they can one day feel able to bin it altogether.
There are dozens of people in Reading, Oxford, Wallingford and Thame who have let go of their addiction and who are now living happier and fulfilling lives. If your child is ready to make a change then get in touch and we’ll get to work.
